LIPSTIQUE focuses on the feminine and individual ways of expressing one's own connection with femininity. While being predominantly within the streetdance theatre genre and showcasing styles such as House, Waacking, and Hip Hop through freestyle and choreography, the work also integrates concepts and movements from jazz, ballet, and contemporary vocabularies, illuminating the diverse strengths within the collective. In signature Mix Mix style of being bright, bold and extravagant. we celebrate women, the feminine, and the various essences and influential ideas they bring. Not only within the streetdance styles, but also art, music, fashion, and culture. We ask what is the future of the feminine? Where are all the women in the history of art, music, popular culture and dance, more specifically where are the women of colour?
